PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it has been difficult to manufacture a toner of uniform particle size distribution by efficiently removing fine powder particles of 2.5μm or less in the conventional classifying method. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the toner injects a dispersion liquid having dispersing coloring resin particles in an aqueous medium into a centrifugal separator provided with a non-porous cylindrical tank on an inner wall face having a rotating shaft in a vertical direction to be rotated, then, adheres particle components on the inner wall face of the cylindrical tank by centrifugal force, then, drains the dispersion liquid in the cylindrical tank and separating the coloring resin particles adhered on the inner wall face; wherein an area excluding an area of a part overlapped with a graph expressing number frequency distribution from the area of the graph expressing surface area frequency distribution expressing frequency on a vertical axis and particle diameter in a horizontal axis in 0.6-400μm is 15% or lower for the area of the graph expressing the surface area frequency distribution.
