<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform more excellent image formation by securely and stably gripping a transfer material before transfer. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes: an intermediate transfer belt 8 for carrying a toner image; a secondary transfer roller 14 including a gripper 18 that grips a transfer material 33, a groove portion 17 in which the gripper 18 is disposed, and an elastic member disposed over the secondary transfer roller 14 except a portion where the groove portion 17 is disposed, the elastic member of the secondary transfer roller 14 is pressed onto the intermediate transfer belt 8 to transfer an image from the intermediate transfer belt 8 onto the transfer material 33; and a gate roller 40 for transporting the transfer material 33 to the gripper 18, wherein a circumferential velocity v1 (mm/sec) of the elastic member of the secondary transfer roller 14 is lower than a moving speed v2 (mm/sec) of the transfer material 33 transported by the gate roller 40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
