An analysis system (10) includes a test device (18) and a monolithic analyzer (20). The test device (18) includes test formats using a plurality of processes involving a pre-selected combination of chromophore precursors or chromophores. Each of the pre-selected chromophore precursors or chromophores is configured to generate a measurable signal for a different analyte. Each chromophore precursor is capable of generating a chromophore that absorbs, emits or reflects a wavelength that is within a waveband that is detectable via a respective corresponding window (22) of the analyzer (20), and each chromophore is capable of absorbing, emitting or reflecting a wavelength that is within the waveband detectable via a respective corresponding window (22) of the analyzer (20). The monolithic analyzer (20) includes a plurality of separate windows (22). Each window (22) is configured to be responsive to a different waveband that matches the waveband including the wavelength that is absorbed, emitted or reflected by one of the generated chromophores or chromophores.
