<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform bandwidth allocation while preventing upstream frames from being discarded at the time of buffer overflow, to reliably relay the upstream frames to a host side. <P>SOLUTION: The dynamic bandwidth allocation device 12 is equipped in a PON system station side device 1 which, for example, relays upstream frames F1, F2 received from house side units 2 to higher-order networks 6. On the basis of the rate that the upstream frames F1, F2 are received from home units 2, the rate that relay devices transmit the upstream frames F1, F2, and the change in the amounts of data generated when the upstream frames F1, F2 are relayed, the dynamic bandwidth allocation device 12 calculates an allocated maximum bandwidth (max_bw) at which the upstream frames F1, F2 can be relayed even when the amounts of data are increased, and dynamically allocates the amount of upstream data of each home unit 2, within the range of the calculated allocated maximum bandwidth (max_bw). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
