<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor with a highly accurate and simple configuration, having little epicritic deterioration in input image data. <P>SOLUTION: A lightness conversion portion 105 converts and outputs lightness of original image data into a lightness area of an image output device 103. A variation calculation portion 106 calculates variation of colors when a color in image data output by the lightness conversion portion 105 is converted into a color in a color reproduction range of the image output device. A variation correction portion 107 corrects variation so as to leave an edge and a low frequency component at an image plane of the variation. A color correction portion 108 corrects a color in the lightness converted image data, based on the corrected variation.
