PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an quality inspecting device for inspecting the quality of the sheet of securities or the like containing bank note paper on the basis of an optical image such as a reflection image or a transmission image by irradiating the sheet with light. SOLUTION: The quality inspecting device includes at least a determining part having first and second inspection barrels feeding a polyhedral plate sheet while winding the same around their peripheral surfaces, performing the input of an image by the transmission or reflection of the polyhedral plate sheet and comparing the input image with the preliminarily recorded standard image of the polyhedral plate sheet to perform the determination of the quality of the polyhedral plate sheet. The first and second inspection barrels have the opening parts corresponding to the predetermined row of the polyhedral plate sheet on the outer peripheral surface thereof and transmitted light irradiation parts for irradiating the polyhedral plate sheet with light in the opening parts. An image input part is arranged in close vicinity to a transmitted light detecting part arranged in opposed relation to the opening parts and the outer peripheral surfaces of the inspection barrels and each of the opening parts has a reflected light irradiation part for irradiating a predetermined row different from the row of the target polyhedral plate sheet with light and the reflected light detecting part adjacent to the reflected light irradiation part to detect the reflected light of the polyhedral plate sheet.
