The method involves recording uv-data regarding uv-radiation, which acts on a passenger of a cabriolet vehicle (1), via uv-sensors (2). Sun burn danger of the vehicle passenger is determined based on the recorded uv-data and individualized data for UV-susceptibility of the passenger. A feedback signal in association with the determined sun-burn energy is delivered via an output unit (3). Intensity of the radiation is provided as the feedback signal. The individualized data is selected under a skin type, browning level of the passenger, sun protection clothing and/or sun cream of the passenger. An independent claim is also included for a device for warning the passenger of a cabriolet vehicle.
