<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing oil mist, bad odor or the like, the method being easy to handle, low in cost, usable in a long period of time, excellent in ventilation and removal of adhered oil mist, and also excellent in removal by adsorption of bad odor and scorched smoke; and to provide a removing filter therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The removing filter for removing oil mist, bad order or the like comprises; an adhesion adsorption base material which is an independent frothed structure obtained by making an obsidian incinerated and frothed and has 0.2-0.3 in apparent specific gravity and 8-20 mm in particle size; and a filter frame body which is formed in a cylindrical or cubic form, which has a prescribed accommodation volume, both with a net weave body, which is made of a fire-resistant incombustible material and does not leak the accommodated adhesion adsorption base material, and with a form-keeping material; an opening/closing cover being provided on the one side face of the filter frame body in which a prescribed amount of the adhesion adsorption base material is accommodated.
