PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gradation correcting device for performing gradation conversion by making the influence of correction application deviation small without needing a frame memory. SOLUTION: The gradation correction section 100 being an gradation correction device for performing gradation correction in real time during photographing video includes: an area value calculating portion 11 for dividing a frame into a plurality of areas as an image feature of each frame of video and calculating the area value of each divided area; an exposure variation calculation circuit 12 for calculating a variation between an exposure control amount of an attentional frame and an exposure control amount of the preceding frame; an area value correction circuit 13 for correcting the area value of the preceding frame by using the exposure variation; a gradation conversion curve generation circuit 16 for generating a gradation correction curve for converting an image of the attentional frame on the basis of the area value corrected by the area value correction circuit 13; and a gradation conversion circuit 17 for performing gradation conversion of the image of the attentional frame by using the gradation conversion curve generated in the gradation conversion curve generation circuit 16.
