PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article to be hardly turned up in a waist portion, excellent in the fitting property. SOLUTION: The absorbent article has a core-wrapping sheet solely disposed region 20, where an absorbent core 5 is not disposed but a core wrapping sheet 6 is disposed, present in the waist portion D of the absorbent article 1 on the abdominal portion B and/or back portion A. In the core-wrapping sheet solely disposed region 20, the rigidity on side edges 60 and 60 in the lateral direction of the core wrapping sheet 6 is higher than that in the center 61 in the lateral direction of the core wrapping sheet 6. In each side edge 60. an extension part 65 of the core wrapping sheet 6 is preferably turned up inward in the lateral direction of the absorbent core 5, and the turned-up part 66 and an opposite turned-up part 67 facing the turned-up part 66 with a folding line L in-between are joined to each other with an adhesive 70.
