METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ASSESSING THE WEAR OF A TYRE

The invention relates to a method (1) for assessing the wear of a tyre (2) capable of being run on a computer (6). According to the invention, the method (1) consists of: determining, in a first phase (10), a first function (F5) representing the current wear of the tyre (2); comparing, in a second phase (12), at least one point of said first function (Fs) representing the current wear of the tyre (2) with at least one bound (B), corresponding to the nominal wear limit of the tyre (2), of a reference function (F0) modelling the wear of the tyre (2); transmitting a warning signal (Z) specific to the wear limit of the tyre (2) when at least one point of the first function (F5) exceeds said at least one bound(B). The invention also relates to a device for implementing said method (1) according to the invention.
