PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a magnetic paint excellent in dispersibility and chargeability, wherein the kneading process in a process of producing a magnetic paint is improved. SOLUTION: The method for producing a magnetic paint containing a magnetic powder, a binder resin, and a solvent is characterized in that the kneading process of kneading a composition to be kneaded containing a specified amount of the binder resin and a specified amount of the solvent based on the magnetic powder at high solid concentration includes a first kneading process of performing kneading in an amount of first resin, which is 20-80% of the specified amount of the binder resin, and a plurality of kneading processes including a second kneading process and processes thereafter, after the first kneading process, the kneading process is performed, and, the plurality of kneading processes including the second kneading process and the processes thereafter are performed using the amount of the remaining resin obtained by subtracting the amount of the first resin from the specified amount of the binder resin in the plurality of kneading processes including the second kneading process and the processes thereafter.
