VIDEO DEVICE, VIDEO PROCESSING METHOD, AND IMAGE QUALITY MODE-SETTING METHOD IN THIS DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select an image quality mode of an image display optionally in accordance with video output by a video output device when connecting the video output device capable of outputting high quality HD video to the video display.

SOLUTION: A pure direct mode for outputting an input video (1080p) as it is, a video fine mode for upconverting input video (480i/480p) to video signal of a higher scanning rate and outputting the video signal, and an entrustment mode for automatically applying correction to a video component according to the type of the input video and outputting the corrected video component are prepared. A selection menu (M3) of the pure direct mode, the entrustment mode and the video fine mode is displayed (ST102). When the video output device outputs a high quality HD video, the pure direct mode is prepared so that a viewer (user) of the input video can select the pure direct mode (ST104).
