PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner image carrier for achieving both of a high cleaning performance and the suppression of entanglement of a cleaning blade. SOLUTION: The toner image carrier, which is rotationally driven so as to carry the toner image, includes a plurality of grooves formed on the outer peripheral surface of the toner image carrier along the rotating direction of the toner image carrier, the plurality of grooves are arranged in an orthogonal direction perpendicular to the rotation direction, and the configuration of the outer peripheral surface of the toner image carrier in the orthogonal direction is a periodic uneven-configuration.
