PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembly type secondary battery, capable of reducing its setting space and without a risk of liquid leakage. SOLUTION: In a rectangular-parallelepiped battery case 3 having a short-side surface with a narrow width and a long-side surface with a wide width, an electrode plate group 5 with a positive electrode plate 18 and a negative electrode plate 19 parallel to the long-side surface stacked in a short-side surface direction through a separator 20 are housed. Side edges of opposite sides of the positive electrode plate 18 and the negative electrode plate 19, respectively, are protruded from their facing parts of both electrode plates outwardly to have protrusions to be as leads 18a, 19a. Each of cathode and negative electrode side end edges of the leads 18a, 19a of the electrode plate group 5 is fixed to the collector plate 21 to hold the electrode plate group 5 at collector plates 21, 22, an integrated battery case 2 made by integrally coupling a plurality of battery cases 3 with each other on the short-side surface are provided, and the collector plates 21, 22 on both sides are connected by connection metal jigs 9 which penetrate the short-side surface between the battery cases 3.
