<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for a straight tube fluorescent lamp with a simple structure in which the socket for straight tube fluorescent lamp is improved with each removal of the lamp and the lamp is hardly separated even if it receives strong vibration and shock. <P>SOLUTION: The socket has an L-shape guide groove 11c. Column-shape electrodes 1b, 1a of the straight tube fluorescent lamp 1 are inserted into the L-shape guide groove 11c as an arrow mark Z (as shown in Fig.A). The column-shape electrodes 1b, 1a are inserted along the L-shape guide groove 11c and contacted with leaf-spring electrodes 2b, 2a, respectively, and push open these (as shown in Fig.B). Further, the column-shape electrodes 1b, 1a are housed along the horizontal side (Y-Y) of the L-shape guide groove 11c (as shown in Fig.C).
