<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact memory device with improved stability. <P>SOLUTION: A memory device includes a substrate, at least one electronic component formed on the substrate, at least one light source formed on the substrate, and a package material formed on the electronic component and the light source. At least one electronic component is provided with an information storage function. At least one light source is electrically connected to at least one electronic component. A portion of the light source is exposed without being covered by package materials.
