PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute accurate and reliable binding by achieving a stable position of a binding strap when releasing and retracting the binding strap from a guide, and reliably and tightly attaching the binding strap to the predetermined position of an object to be bound. SOLUTION: In a binding apparatus, a binding strap B in which a large bundle A is fed along a loop guide 151 so as to surround it together with a loading stand 12 to make a loop is released from a loop guide 151 and retracted so as to reduce the loop diameter, and tightly attached to the periphery of the large bundle A and bound. The loading stand 12 is inclined downwardly to the back side. The loop guide 151 is constituted of an inner loop guide 153 for receiving the loop inner side of the binding strap B, and an outer loop guide for receiving a side edge of the binding strap B from below in the inclining direction. When the inner loop guide is moved and the loop guide is opened, the binding strap B is dropped to the predetermined binding position of the large bundle A while abutting on the sidewall of the outer loop guide.
