<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide fine particles for an optical functional layer, capable of striking a balance between an anti-glare property and black reproducibility in a high level, and capable of obtaining an optical functional layer suitably applicable to a high definition display. <P>SOLUTION: Fine particles for an optical functional layer have cores and shells covering the cores and are added to a transparent base material and are used to form the optical functional layer, and an average particle size R of the fine particles is equal to or longer than a wavelength of light impinging on the optical functional layer, and a ratio (r/R) of the average particle size R to an average diameter r of the cores is ≥0.50, and the shells have a refractive index different from that of the transparent base material and have a light absorbing capability. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
