PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the rigidity of a vehicle body by suppressing the torsion of the vehicle body in a manner matching the characteristics of a vehicle body structure. SOLUTION: This vehicle body rear structure includes a left reinforcing bar (left reinforcing member) 38 installed between the center part 34a of a rear cross member 34 and the front part 15a of a left rear frame 15, a right reinforcing bar (right reinforcing member) 39 installed between the center part 34a of the rear cross member 34 and the front part 16a of a right rear frame 16, right and left longitudinal members 27, 27 which join right and left center pillars 18, 18 and right and left rear damper housings 25, 25 via right and left rear pillars 23, 23, respectively, and an upper cross member 36 joining the right and left longitudinal members 27, 27 to each other.
