Seating furniture with a coupling rod which connects a backrest and a footrest

The seating furniture (1) has a coupling linkage (6) moved between a seat position with a contrived backrest (2) and a swiveling base (4) and a recumbent position with the contrived backrest and the swiveling base. The coupling linkage is connected with a spring unit i.e. gas spring (7). Reset force of the spring unit counteracts an adjustment to the recumbent position in the seat position of the coupling linkage and adjustment to the seat position in the recumbent position of the coupling linkage. The coupling linkage is formed to convey a pivoting of the backrest on the base.
