<p>N-Azinyl-N'-pyridylsulfonyl-urea compounds (I) and their salts, are new. N-Azinyl-N'-pyridylsulfonyl-urea compounds of formula (I) and their salts, are new. W 1>, X, Y 1>N or C (which is optionally substituted by R 8>); V 1>C (optionally substituted by R 8>); A : N or CR 9>; R 9>H (preferred), alkyl, halo or haloalkyl; R 1>H or optionally substituted alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, aralkyl or aryl; R 2>, R 3>alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylamino or dialkylamino (all optionally substituted by halo), H or halo; either R 4>-R 7>alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylsulfinyl, alkylsulfonyl, alkylamino, dialkylamino, alkylcarbonyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkylaminocarbonyl or dialkylaminocarbonyl (all optionally substituted by halo, CN, alkoxy or alkylthio), H, halo or CN; or R 4>R 6>, R 5>R 7>an alkylidene group optionally interrupted by O or S; R 8>alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylsulfinyl, alkylsulfonyl, alkylamino, dialkylamino, alkylcarbonyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkylaminocarbonyl, or dialkylaminocarbonyl (all optionally substituted by halo, CN, alkoxy, or alkylthio), halo, CN, thiocyanato or nitro; Q : S or O (preferred); and n : 0-3, preferably 0. Provided that: when n is 0-2, the unsubstituted carbon atoms of V 1>, W 1>, X and/or Y 1>are saturated with H. Independent claims are included for: (1) the preparation of (I); (2) a (5,6-dihydro-1,4,2-dioxazin-3-yl)pyridyl-sulfonamide compound of formula (II); (3) a 5,6-dihydro-1,4,2-dioxazin-3-yl-pyridin-sulfonic acid-iso(thio)-cyanate compound of formula (IV); (4) a 5,6-dihydro-[1,4,2]dioxazine compound of formula (X); (5) a (5,6-dihydro-1,4,2-dioxazin-3-yl)pyridyl-sulfonic acid halide compound of formula (VIII); (6) a sulfonyl (thio)carbamate compound of formula (VI); and (7) a composition comprising (I) and at least a further active agent, which is at least a further herbicide and at least a safener.
