PURPOSE: A confirmation reply transmitting and receiving method in a wireless communication system is provided to minimize the overhead of ACK by selecting the ACK format in a base station according to the situation. CONSTITUTION: A base station assigns the uplink domain for transmitting the bandwidth request indicator or the uplink domain for transmitting the ranging pointer to a terminal(S510). The base station receives the bandwidth request indicator or the ranging pointer through allocated domain from the terminal(S520).
