PURPOSE: An input processing unit of a portable terminal and a method of the same are provided to remove the inaccuracy of a touch function and voice recognition function, thereby performing the exact input which a user desires. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(160) recognizes voice signal to generates voice recognition data. The control unit generates visual information text data which determines a user function according to the touch event. The control unit corrects the voice recognition data by comparing with the visual information text data. The control unit corrects the visual information text data by comparing with the voice recognition data. The display unit(141) outputs a screen corresponding to a user function which activates based on the corrected voice recognition data and the corrected visual information text data.
