Disclosed herein are N'-cyano-N-halogenalkylimidamide derivatives of formula (I) where substituents are as defined within the specification, process for their preparation and their uses for controlling animal pests especially arthropods, in particular insects. Also disclosed is a compound useful in the preparation of said derivatives.
