PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound which has the useful activity of agomelatin, and other benefits, for example, a reduced disordered metabolism and a reduced side effect. SOLUTION: The compound of formula (A) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, a solvate or hydrate thereof is disclosed. In the formula, R<SP>1</SP>is chosen from H, CH<SB>3</SB>, CH<SB>2</SB>D, CHD<SB>2</SB>and CD<SB>3</SB>; R<SP>2</SP>is chosen from OH, H, D and F; R<SP>3a</SP>, R<SP>3b</SP>, R<SP>4a</SP>, and R<SP>4b</SP>are each chosen from H and D independently; R<SP>5</SP>is chosen from CH<SB>3</SB>, CH<SB>2</SB>D, CHD<SB>2</SB>, and CD<SB>3</SB>; and at least one R includes a deuterium atom.
