<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fault diagnostic device for inverter, which prevents enlargement of structure and cost increase. <P>SOLUTION: The fault diagnostic device for inverter, which diagnoses an open fault of a switching element constituting an inverter 3 to supply three-phase AC power to a motor 4. The fault diagnostic device includes: a current detector 6 to detect actual current values of at least two phases supplied by the inverter 3 to the motor 4; and an open fault diagnosis section 29 which smoothes the actual current values detected by the current detector 6, and diagnoses that a switching element fails when at least one of smoothed absolute values of currents is larger than a preset predetermined value α. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
