PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery assembly and its abnormality detection method capable of simply detecting abnormalities of a secondary battery accompanying thermal expansion deformation and specifying which of a plurality of secondary batteries connected in series gets abnormal. SOLUTION: In the secondary battery assembly 1 provided with secondary batteries 3 each having an anode terminal 32 insulated from an outer package body 31 and a cathode terminal 33 connected through a resistor, and an assembly case 2 with a plurality of secondary batteries 3 connected in series housed, a conductor 10 is roped around the plurality of secondary batteries with a given gap against the outer package body 31, and a closed circuit is formed as an end of the conductor 10 is electrically connected with the anode terminal 32 or the cathode terminal 33 of the serially connected secondary batteries 3 at an end, and the outer package body 31 of the thermally expanded secondary batteries 3 out of the plurality of secondary batteries 3 come in contact with the conductor 10 to enable to detect voltage by a voltage detection means 11.
