PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method excellent in flexibility and scalability, when building a communication system where a client terminal performs communication via a WAN. SOLUTION: For relay group information, a network address of LAN where relay servers 12, 23, and 812 perform routing and identification information about a routing pattern are set and for relay server information, identification information about the routing pattern whose authority is given to each client terminal is set. When a client terminal 11 connected to a LAN 1 transmits a communication packet whose address of a client terminal 21 connected to a LAN 2 is designated, it determines whether the right for use of the routing pattern in which the LAN 1, 2 participate is given to the client terminal 11; and when it is given, a routing session formed in one of the relay servers 12, 23, or 812 is used to transfer a communication packet.
