PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent instantaneous leakage of gas by keeping a blocking state of a vent hole after a blocking member for blocking the vent hole turns into a free state as well as before an internal pressure of an airbag is released. SOLUTION: An airbag system for a vehicle includes: the vent hole 26 which provides a communication path between an inside and an outside of the airbag 18 through which gas is discharged from the inside toward the outside of the airbag 18; the blocking member 28 which is supported on a first base fabric 24a to block up the vent hole 26; a pair of slits 36a, 36b which slidably supports the blocking member 28; and a pair of corner portions 38a, 38b which are provided on upper and lower hems of the blocking member 28 in a lateral direction, and regulates sliding operation of the blocking member 28 in engagement with the slits 36a, 36b when the blocking member 28 slides so as to release the internal pressure of the airbag 18 from the vent hole 26.
