PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a sealed battery in which test pressure in airtight test is increased by a simple and easy method compared with convention ones, and minute leaking spots are detected surely in a short time. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the sealed battery 1 is provided which includes a cabinet 4 consisting of a lid 2 and a case 3, and manufactured through at least a safety valve forming process for forming a safety valve 10 on the lid 2, a cabinet forming process in which the lid 2 and the case 3 are air-tightly fixed to form the cabinet 4, and an airtightness inspection process for inspecting airtightness of the cabinet 4.
