The piston (10) has a hub (26) for bearing a gudgeon pin and a piston skirt (13) that passes over a transient area into a piston bar (12), where diameter of the transient area corresponds to diameter of the piston skirt. The transient area and the piston are made of steel, and the hub is spaced from the piston skirt by recesses (18, 20, 22, 24) of the piston skirt. The piston skirt is formed by two circular cylinder segments (14, 16) that are formed in an angle of 40 degree-90 degree. The piston skirt comprises a passage.
