<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal transmission device which can save power while securing safety of laser light. <P>SOLUTION: In an electrical-optical conversion circuit 36A, a laser diode 26A is controlled with a laser diode driver 106 by a TMDS signal. Light emission of the lighting of the laser diode 26A is forcibly stopped by a signal from a TMDS signal detection part 100 and a reception condition signal (LOP signal) from a reception module 14 by a laser stop control part 102. That is to say, when the TMDS signal is output and the LOP signal is set at a low level, an optical signal does not reach the reception module, and thereby the laser diode 26A is immediately stopped. When the LOP signal is set at a low level, and the TMDS signal moves from a non-output state to a start state of the TMDS signal output, the LOP signal is temporarily ignored, the laser diode 26A is made to emit light, and the TMDS signal by the optical signal is allowed to be output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
