<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and accurately replace a toner cartridge in a full waste toner housing chamber with a new toner cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a freely replaceable toner cartridge 3 for housing the prescribed amount of toner, a photoreceptor 21 for carrying a toner image, a cleaning device 26 for recovering the toner remaining on the photosensitive body, a waste toner housing container 32 for housing recovered waste toner, a waste toner housing container replacement control part 200, and a waste toner housing container replacement instruction reporting means 206. The waste toner housing container replacement control part 200 includes a toner cartridge replacement determination part 201, a toner cartridge replacement number counter 202, a waste toner housing container replacement determination part 203, and a waste toner housing container replacement instruction part 204. Thus, by determining the replacement time of the waste toner housing container of the toner cartridge of a pertinent color by the number of the replacement of the toner cartridge, a user is urged to replace the toner cartridge having the waste toner housing container which has reached the replacement time with the new toner cartridge. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
