PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminator for suppressing luminance unevenness and performing uniform illumination without increasing the number of LED light sources. SOLUTION: The illuminator (11) to be applied to an internal illumination type signboard, and the LED light sources (19) are attached to substrates (13, 14) disposed obliquely to the bottom surface of the internal illumination type signboard. Light obliquely emitted from the LED light sources (19) repeat complicated reflection inside the signboard and uniformly illuminate the entire signboard, luminance unevenness is eliminated, and uniform illumination is achieved.
