PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft cylinder of a writing utensil in which at least one part or the whole part of the shaft cylinder is made into a twisted outer shape which is formed by twisting both end parts having polygonal shape toward directions opposite to each other, and a part having the twisted outer shape is more conspicuous. SOLUTION: Outer shape of the shaft cylinder 1 of the writing utensil is made into a twisted outer shape 3 which is formed by twisting both end parts 1a, 1b of the shaft cylinder, of which cross-sectional shape is regular hexagon, toward directions opposite to each other, and spiral grooves 7 comprising two lines 6a, 6b are formed on an outer surface 2 of the shaft cylinder 1 by forming V-shaped recessed grooves 5 on corner parts 4 of which cross-sectional shape is regular hexagon.
