<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery module having a high weight energy density and volume energy density with easy assembly operation. <P>SOLUTION: The battery module (B) includes a battery stack (1), a positive electrode end plate (3) and a negative electrode end plate (5), wherein the battery stack (1) is configured by laminating a plurality of square batteries (C), having a positive electrode terminal plate (13) and a negative electrode terminal plate (15) made of conductive plate materials arranged while facing each other, in the facing direction of both the terminal plates, and the positive electrode end plate and the negative electrode end plate are arranged at one end and the other end in the laminating direction (X) of the battery stack (1), respectively.
