PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time until playback is started even when playback a removable type recording medium other than the removable type recording medium of which playback has been stopped at the last minute. SOLUTION: A memory is divided into a plurality of data areas, which are assigned to different removable type recording media. A drive control part includes a media ID management part 324 for identifying a data area assigned to the removable type recording media, an optical disk reading part 322 for reading data from the removable type recording medium, and a playback data management part 326 for storing data read from the removable type recording medium in the data area and reading data from the data area.
