PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure desired lubricity, by securing a desired supply quantity of lubricating oil to a pad surface, with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: This tilting pad bearing includes a plurality of bearing pads 15 slantingly arranged around a rotary shaft 2, a pad housing 11 for holding the bearing pads 15 from a back face, and a pair of side plates 16A and 16B arranged on both ends of the bearing pads 15 while inserting the rotary shaft 2 into respective through-holes 17 and 17. An oil discharge hole for discharging the lubricating oil to an external part is arranged in a position corresponding to the back face of the bearing pads 15 in at least one of the respective side plates 16A and 16B.
