INVERTER PROTECTING APPARATUS

An inverter protecting apparatus is provided between a battery and an alternating current motor. The inverter protecting apparatus is provided with: a short-circuit failure determining section which determines whether there is a switching module having a short-circuit failure among switching modules connected to the direct current power line and the alternating current power line of the inverter; and a current-carrying control section which carries a current to the switching element of the predetermined switching module in the case where it is determined that there is a switching module having a short-circuit failure. Thus, the inverter can be protected, while suppressing the manufacture cost low.
