<p>A method for transmitting IPV6 protocol message in passive optical network is provided in the embodiment of the present invention, said method includes the following steps: receiving a router advertisement message, which includes optical line terminal OLT port information, optical network unit ONU port information and an IPV6 address prefix; binding said IPV6 address prefix with the OLT port indicated by said OLT port information; transmitting said router advertisement message to an ONU through said OLT port, so as to enable said ONU to bind said IPV6 address prefix with the ONU port indicated by said ONU port information, and providing said router advertisement message to user through said ONU port.
