COMMUNICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HEADER COMPRESSION ADOPTING ARQ MECHANISM

A communication method and apparatus for header compression adopting automatic repeat request (ARQ) mechanism. The method includes: negotiating with the receiving terminal to determine the parameters of header compression and ARQ; constructing protocol data unit (PDU) of lower layer protocol and transmitting it to the receiving terminal, wherein the PDU includes the header compression information; interacting with the receiving terminal and performing the header compressing process. By the method of the embodiments of the present invention, the combination of header compression and ARQ mechanism can be realized, the efficiency and the accuracy rate of header compression can be improved, and the valuable air interface resource can be saved.
