<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording body which is high in recording density and improved in oil resistance and plasticizer resistance of a recording unit. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal recording body includes a thermal recording layer including a leuco dye and a coloring agent on a support. The coloring agent preferably includes 5-30 mass% of zinc benzoate and 2-15 mass% of a compound represented by a specific structural formula relative to the thermal recording layer solid content.
