<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal apparatus to start a targeted application with less operation, and to provide a control method of the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the mobile terminal apparatus 100, a character string-displaying portion 42 displays an input character string inputted from a character input portion 40 on a screen. A list preparing portion 50 displays a list of a portion or all of applications capable of executing a process regarding a start-up character string based on the start-up character string which is a portion or all of the input character string.
