PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immunohistochemical (IHC) staining method capable of effectively detecting a target antigen by reducing a background by a nonspecfic reaction of those other than the target antigen when detecting the target antigen by an antibody for recognizing a target antigen substance existing in a tissue or a cell in immunohistochemistrical (IHC) staining. SOLUTION: An antigen is refined by a tissue slice itself, thus reducing the background by IHC staining and detecting the target antigen with improved sensitivity. By bringing the antibody used for IHC staining into contact with a tissue sample for refining antibodies beforehand, the antibody reacting with a nonspecific reaction substance other than the target antigen in the target sample is adsorbed and removed.
