PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch an input/output processing module which controls input/output between a peripheral device and an information processing device without making software aware of the switching. SOLUTION: The information processing device 1 is equipped with: an arithmetic processing module 100 which executes the software; an input/output processing module 300 which controls input/output processing between a peripheral device 3 and the arithmetic processing module 1 via IO cards 610-630; and a reserve input/output processing module 400 which is a reserve device for the input/output processing module 300. The input/output processing module 300 waits for instructions to start input/output processing to the IO cards 610-630, which responds to input/output requests from the arithmetic processing module 100, for a prescribed period of time, and transmits, in this period, at least part of control information for executing the input/output processing, to the reserve input/output processing module 400.
