<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit for driving an LED which uses a switching regulator IC having a low breakdown voltage even though a power supply voltage is high. <P>SOLUTION: A circuit for driving an LED includes a voltage clamping circuit for clamping a power supply voltage to the operation voltage of a switching regulator IC.
