<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of suppressing occurrence of flooding. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell (100) is equipped with a membrane-electrode assembly (10), a porous member (30) arranged on one face of the membrane-electrode assembly, and a plate member (50) arranged on a face opposite to the membrane-electrode assembly of the porous member. On a face of the porous member side of the plate member, a plurality pieces of coating materials (60) are linearly coated, the coating materials have higher hydrophilicity or water-repellency compared with the porous member and the plate member. When the line width of the coating material is denoted by L<SB>w</SB>, the distance between neighboring coating materials is denoted by L<SB>i</SB>, the representative fine pore diameter of the porous member is denoted by D, and the capillary length of water is denoted by L<SB>c</SB>, relations of D<L<SB>w</SB>and L<SB>i</SB><L<SB>c</SB>are satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
