<p>The method involves creating a movement path required for measurement of a mechanical carriage guide by shifting a carriage (1b) using a linear motor (4) integrated with a plunger coil drive. The linear motor accelerates the carriage to a defined, constant moving speed. Position-dependent deviations of the moving speed over changes of a linear motor drive current are detected. A variance of friction force of the carriage in the guide over a traveled path is calculated from the detected deviations. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for determining friction characteristics in a mechanical carriage guide i.e. rail-ball rolling guide.</p> |
