The present invention comprises a method which delays the real image data for a certain period of time and compensates, by means of this delay, the difference between the input active time and output real active time which is necessary for 16:9 aspect ratio conversion in order to reduce the buffer space required by the format conversion needed to display high-definition (HD) image on standard display devices.
